Jammu police on Tuesday issued an "alert" against a fake social media account posing as the additional director general of police, Jammu Anand Jain, according to an official statement.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Vijay Kumar and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar conducted a visit to Poonch to evaluate the security scenario in the aftermath of the Dera ki Gali (DKG) encounter, which resulted in the death of five army personnel.

The Additional Director General of Police of Jammu Zone and the Divisional Commissioner Jammu on Friday took stock of the security arrangements for Independence Day celebrations and Budda Amarnath Yatra, which will begin on August 17.

At the meeting, a detailed discussion was held and a briefing was also given by the officers of CRPF, Police, and intelligence agencies, in view of the present security scenario and possible threats to the Amarnath Yatra this year.
