The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and India signed a USD 200 million loan agreement to improve solid waste management and sanitation in 100 cities across eight states in India, said ADB on Tuesday.
Through this project, ADB will help upgrade tourist destinations, such as the Chaturdash Devata Temple, Kasaba Kalibari, and Neermahal Palace, by improving the amenities, rooms, and landscaping, and making them more visitor- and gender-friendly destinations.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Indian government have signed USD 141.12 million loan to support the development of high-quality infrastructure such as roads, water supply systems and electricity distribution network in three industrial clusters in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the ADB Annual Report 2022, released on Monday, out of total disbursement of over USD 31.8 billion to 40 countries, Pakistan received loans of USD 5.58 billion.
The ADB loan will help enhance access to financial services for vulnerable groups, most notably micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs); women; youth; and those living in rural areas, ADB said in a statement on Tuesday.
