The total number of active cases is 148, with no detection of the JN.1 variant. It's noted that 51% of these cases are asymptomatic, and the symptomatic cases present mild symptoms and recover within a few days, the health department said.
"A total of 145 cases of JN.1 variant have been reported till December 28. These samples were collected between November 21 and December 18, 2023," official sources said.
Rajasthan University Of Health Science's Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudhir Bhandari asked fellow citizens not to panic about the new variant JN.1 due to the strong vaccination programme in the country.
India on Sunday recorded 166 fresh COVID-19 cases while the number of total active cases stood at 895, according to data put out by the Union Health Ministry.
"This year, the state has reported 4,227 cases so far. Three deaths have been reported. At present, there are 343 active cases of Dengue in the state. It usually spreads in the month of October and November so accordingly, the preparations are in full swing,"Subramanian said.
