"The tragic accident on the National Highway at Kalarkode, Alappuzha, which claimed the lives of five medical students, is deeply saddening. The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt condolences over their untimely demise and extended sympathies to the grieving families," an official statement
Five medical students were killed after the car they were traveling with collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Alappuzha district of Kerala.

According to police, "The incident took place at 4.30 am on Monday. The bus had been returning from Goa. The injured passengers have been shifted to a local hospital for treatment."
The accident occurred on Friday afternoon near Bindravana Tola village, along the Gondia-Arjuni road, when a Maharashtra State Transport bus overturned. The bus, travelling from Nagpur to Gondia, had over 40 passengers on board at the time of the incident.
