A complaint has been filed against the bus driver and its owner in the bus accident case that killed 13 people and left more than 30 people injured on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Pakistan's Punjab province on Saturday, Dawn reported.
According to officials, the incident took place after the bus driver allegedly lost control and ended up ramming the vehicle into the parapet wall of the bridge.
The deceased were residents of Shahalampur village under Bhogaon in Mainpuri district and had come to attend a wedding function in Mohdabad area on Saturday, according to the police.
"A 35-year-old accident victim namely Shoab Mansoor died during treatment due to sudden cardiac arrest in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack," Dr Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra, Superintendent said.
At least 12 people, including women and children, were killed after a passenger bus turned on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Pakistan's Punjab province on Saturday, Geo News reported.
"A car was on its way to Jammu from Udhampur, near Garnai on Birmah Bridge when a vehicle hit a pedestrian and after that fell down from Birmah Bridge into River Tawi," police said.
At least four persons were killed, while six others were injured in a collision between a car and a carrier vehicle on Madiki National Highway in East Godavari district on Saturday morning, police said.
While talking to ANI, Superintendent of Police (SP) Morena, Shailendra Singh Chauhan said, "A dumper and a passenger bus collided en route from Gwalior to Delhi. Three persons died and seven others have been injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital."
