One person was killed while over 12 others were injured after a roadways bus plunged off a bridge into a ditch in the Kakori area in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, on Thursday.
The report reveals a total of 380 fatalities, with 215 deaths attributed to rain-related incidents and 165 from road accidents. The monsoon has caused widespread destruction, with cumulative public property losses estimated at Rs 4,30,676.05 lakh (Rs 4,306.76 crore).
The incident took place around 10:10 AM when the bus, carrying around 22 passengers and travelling from Ghuttu-Ghansali to Haridwar, lost control on a sharp curve about 12 km ahead of Chamba, hit a crash barrier and overturned, as per officials.
The victim, identified as Madhavi from Kulai, was riding her scooter towards Kuntikana around 8:30 AM on Tuesday. Her scooter hit a large pothole on the highway near the Royal Oak building in Kuloor, causing her to fall.
