A political showdown erupted between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) prosecution complaint against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald money laundering case.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday indicated that it may pass interim order to stay certain key provisions of the recently passed Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, and also expressed concern over violence in West Bengal's Murshidabad district.
Addressing a joint press conference with fellow Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, Singhvi said, "This is nothing but vendetta in legal disguise. ED should answer why no NDA ally or BJP leader has ever been touched by the ED. Selective justice is nothing but political thuggery."
"This will be contested fully in all aspects... I think the government, by such matters, is only exposing itself and its campaign of political vendetta because there is absolutely nothing in this case in a legal sense," Singhvi said in a self-made video.
Speaking to ANI, Singhvi said "Anybody who harms and damages India, if he is brought to justice by the process of law, we would welcome it fully...We are hearing reports and it will be good if he is brought to justice..."
