President Droupadi Murmu received Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday. She also hosted a banquet in his honour, said a press release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Taking to Twitter PM Modi said, "President @AlsisiOfficial and I discussed ways to augment cooperation in healthcare, environment and global supply chains. We also talked about issues pertaining to security and the need to end cross-border terrorism."

He further said, "I met PM Modi in 2015 in New York and I had full confidence in him. I knew he will take his nation forward. I have invited Prime Minister Modi to Cairo, Egypt to complete our talks and elevate the ties between the two nations to a strategic partnership."

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to India is believed to be 'historic' as he has come to the country for the first time and that too as a chief guest for the 74th Republic Day of the country.
PM Modi said, "Warm welcome to India, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Your historic visit to India as Chief Guest for our Republic Day celebrations is a matter of immense happiness for all Indians. Look forward to our discussions tomorrow."
