AAP leader Manish Sisodia was arrested on February 26 in an ongoing investigation of a case related to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD.
"In Kavitha's issue, I have been maintaining that this case is nothing but political vendetta and the case was registered after a BJP MP made allegations," he said.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was 'conspiring' against his former deputy Manish Sisodia at Tihar jail, which comes within the functional ambit of the Delhi government.
Annamalai said that the Congress terms the Delhi excise policy as a "big scam" while its ally in Tamil Nadu, DMK stands in support of the "tainted AAP Minister of Delhi".
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj earlier today claimed that Sisodia was lodged in Jail No.1 of Tihar, which he alleged is home to some of the most dreaded criminals and murderers. Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP was conspiring to kill his party leaders.
Bharadwaj claimed that as per the court's order, "Sisodia was supposed to be kept in a Vipassana cell but why is he being kept with such dangerous criminals."
Hitting out at Kavitha on Twitter, Dharampuri said, "Aap chronology Samjiye...KCR govt. didn't have a single woman in its cabinet from 2014-2018, for obvious reasons of Ms Kavitha's hegemony in the party, who was an MP from Nizamabad then."
Earlier, according to a notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs published on Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu appointed both leaders as ministers in the Delhi cabinet on the advice of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, with effect from the date they are sworn in.
