Air India has signed an agreement with KSU Aviation to launch TaxiBot operations at Delhi and Bengaluru airports for its Airbus A320 Family of aircraft.
According to CNN Business, it will add another line to the final-assembly facility that Airbus opened in Tianjin, China, in 2008, which has put the final touches on 600 A320 aircraft to date.
The contract is a significant step towards increasing Airbus' competitiveness in the single-aisle aircraft market and supporting the ramp-up of the A320 programme, said the company statement.
A preliminary report shows that narrow-body jets like the Airbus A320 and A319 have payload issues due to obstacles near the airport, which is a 25-minute hop from Kathmandu.
According to Go First, the airline has placed firm orders for the delivery of 144 Airbus A320 neo aircraft as part of its expansion plan. With this induction, Go First's fleet now comprises 60 aircraft, of which 55 are A320neo and 5 are A 320ceo.
