Birmingham [UK], July 4 (ANI): India stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah created a new record for the most wickets taken by an India bowler during a Test series in England.
At Lunch, England's score read at 200/6, with Bairstow (91*) and Sam Billings (7*), currently standing unbeaten at the crease. The hosts are still trailing by 216 runs.
Broad conceded a total of 35 runs of which 29 runs went to Bumrah's account. Thus the star Indian bowler surpassed the previous record held by West Indies great Brian Lara, Australia's George Bailey and South Africa's Keshav Maharaj.
Bumrah displayed his prowess with the bat by taking 35 from Broad's final over in the first innings as India's tail wagged to help them amass a score of 416 in the fifth and final Test on day two at Edgbaston.
After watching Jadeja's innings, England pacer James Anderson stated that he plays like a proper batter which made things difficult for the Three Lions.
The record partnership of 222 runs in 239 balls was shared between the two for the sixth wicket, which was the highest partnership by an Indian team in England. This was also India's joint fourth-highest partnership in Test cricket.
The intruder came some distance on the field after Indian batter Shreyas Iyer's dismissal in the second session but the ground security took him off the field.
