"Preliminary investigation indicates the fire was caused by the shop owner's negligence, and the shop owner has been taken into custody. Legal action will be taken against those responsible," Minister Reddy added.
Giving insights into the incident, Sandeep Kumar, PRO Gurguram Police said that a total of four people had died on the spot, and out of the two people sent to the hospital for treatment, one succumbed to injuries.
Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma (IPS) stated that around 20 people sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at the Sarkaghat hospital. Several passengers are reported to be in critical condition.
