Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin was not willing to grant Congress more than 25 seats in the seat-sharing formula of the state's ruling alliance for the upcoming Assembly polls, sources said on Monday.
Rohini Acharya's decision to leave politics has created a stir in Bihar's political circles, coming after the Rashtriya Janata Dal's poor showing in the recent assembly elections, where the party won only 25 seats out of over 140 contested in the 243-member house.

Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 25 seats out of 32 in the municipal elections. The ruling party also managed to win the mayoral post from Ambala, along with eight other places in the state.
"In the municipal elections, BJP won 25 of the 32 seats and the Mayor seat with a thumping majority (in Ambala). People of Ambala Cantt have rewarded me for my efforts to develop the area," Vij told reporters.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut spoke on the same issue and said that the EVMs were a fraud in the country and if there were no EVMS, BJP would not even have won 25 seats.
All three parties had already released their initial lists of candidates, but 106 seats remained unannounced. Among these, 20 to 25 seats were contentious, with claims from all three parties. This meeting aimed to address these disputes.
Rajasthan LoP and Congress leader Tika Ram Jully on Wednesday launched a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that those who claimed to win all 25 seats in the state must now resign on moral grounds.
As the counting of the votes for the Lok Sabha polls is underway, the early trends till 9 am showed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead on 75 seats, while the Congress is leading on 25 seats, as per the Election Commission of India.
