President Droupadi Murmu has delegated power to Ladakh Lieutenant Governor under the Drugs and Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 to control the advertising of drugs within the jurisdiction of the newly established Union Territory.
However, the IAS officer, who is holding the charge of Special Secretary (Vigilance) with the additional charge of Special Secretary (Services), said he is a "Member of IAS and protected under Rule 311 of the Constitution of India and also protected under Rule 7 of IAS (Cadre Rules 1954)".
"The establishments approved from Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954, are situated at various locations in the National Capital including e-commerce outlets and retail garments and accessories outlets", said an official release.
