Indian Railways' engineering marvel, India’s first vertical lift sea bridge 'Pamban Bridge' is ready

Rameshwaram (TN), December 04 (ANI): Construction of the new railway bridge at Pamban, the gateway to Rameswaram island, has been underway since 2020. While the major part of the bridge has been completed, and only final touches are under construction. Engineers installed four steel piers and attached iron plates and wheels to lift the drawbridge using a hydraulic system. Completion of the bridge is expected soon, with train service anticipated to start shortly thereafter
