Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 25 (ANI): Leader of Opposition, and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jairam Thakur said that Bharatiya Janata Party is getting full support and blessings from the people of Himachal Pradesh and exuded confidence that the BJP would win all the assembly by-elections.
Thakur said the BJP will win all the elections in the state. The people have rejected the Congress party. In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress lost 61 out of 68 seats. The Chief Minister and most of the ministers could not save their areas.
"This is the first time that a government in the state lost its popularity so quickly. This government has failed on every front. They cheated farmers, youth and gardeners, ignored issues of public interest, insulted the elected representatives, and acted with dictatorship and vengeance. During its tenure of one and a half years, the development of the state was completely stalled. Instead of opening new institutions, the existing institutions were closed," Jairam Thakur said according to the press statement.
"We have never seen such a government before which completely neglected development and public expectations, " he added.
Jairam Thakur thanked the central leadership for reducing GST on cartons and said that this would provide great relief to the gardeners.
Jairam Thakur said that the BJP would win all the assembly by-elections this time." The people of the state are fed up with the misdeeds of this government and are ready for change. In the upcoming by-elections, every dictatorial action by the government which is against development will be answered with votes. Government acts to bring about development, to open hospitals and schools; to build roads and bridges, " former chief minister said.
But this government has not been able to even remove the debris from the roads in its tenure of one and a half years. They failed to provide relief to the disaster victims. Now, the people of the state will teach a lesson to the government.
Thakur said that the Congress government is known for dictatorship. Congress has written a dark chapter in the history of the country by imposing an emergency. Tomorrow is the anniversary of that dark chapter. The people of the country should know about the torture of that period. (ANI)
