"Attacking constitutional institutions has become fashion for 'Tukde-Tukde' gang": BJP MP Nishikant Dubey

New Delhi [India], November 11 (ANI): Taking a dig at TMC MP Mahua Moitra, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday said that it has become a fashion for the 'Tukde-Tukde' gang to attack constitutional bodies in the country adding that he was just a complainant and not a spokesperson of the Lokpal in the cash for query row.

In this regard, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey shared the receiving notice sent by Lokpal on X and said, "Attacking constitutional institutions of India has become a fashion for the Tukde Tukde gang of the country. I filed a complaint in the Lokpal against an MP accused of corruption, and the Lokpal took cognizance of it and asked its investigating agencies to register a case. I am not the spokesperson of a constitutional institution, I am just a complainant."

The remarks came after TMC MP Mahua Moitra questioned the anti-corruption body Lokpal over not releasing an official statement related to the developments of the case which was later revealed by Nishikant Dubey.  

Earlier Mahua Moitra in a post on X said, "Very happy to know Modiji’s Lok Pal exists - and been spurred into action by specially bred pit bulls. Also Godi Media - why not ask Lokpal’s office to release a statement on referral? Bit humiliating for the LP office to outsource such important announcements?"

The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee on Friday submitted its draft report recommending the expulsion of Moitra in connection with the 'Cash for Query' case to Speaker Om Birla. This comes a day after the Ethics panel investigating the matter adopted its 500-page report recommending Moitra's expulsion from the 17th Lok Sabha in view of her "highly objectionable, unethical, heinous and criminal conduct". The report was adopted with a 6:4 majority.

The Trinamool MP had walked out of the Committee meeting even as she was being cross-examined after recording her statement. She alleged that members of the Committee were asking her 'personal' questions. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey however rejected this claim, saying it was actually the Opposition MPs who were guilty of asking the wrong questions.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra, who is facing 'Cash for Query' charges has once again taken to social media to express her dissent with the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee. 

On Friday, Moitra posted a cartoon on her 'X' account, with the line " Maintain ethics unless you are on the other side". This is seen as a direct attack on the Ethics Committee which adopted the report on her alleged misdemeanours.

The cartoon featured Moitra sitting beside an unoccupied chair with carvings of a lotus, the party symbol of the BJP. While Moitra had an 'Opposition' nameplate in front of her, the vacant chair had the nameplate 'ruling'.

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday said that the Mahua Moitra played with national security and that the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee's decision to adopt the report against the TMC MP is fair.

The BJP MP, while speaking to ANI, said that Moitra posed around 50-55 questions in the interest of corporate houses.

"If an MP says that my OTP is used by four other people, this is wrong. The government has not given this authority. If we have a portal and login credentials, that is because we are MPs. Lok Sabha Secretariat has given a PA for all MPs and if that PA is not competent, you can remove it and appoint a new one, but you can't give your login credentials to an outsider. There is sensitive information about India, and the market can be manipulated with that information. In this entire case, Mahua Moitra played with national security," Dubey said.

The 'Cash for Query' row erupted last month when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey approached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against Moitra, accusing her of asking questions in Lok Sabha to target the Adani Group at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. (ANI)
