The Lokpal of India on Monday sought an extension of two months from the Delhi High Court to pass a fresh order in the cash-for-query allegations involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.
The Delhi High Court on Friday allowed Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra's Challenge to the Lokpal Sanction in the Cash-for-Query Case. The High Court set aside the order passed by the Lokpal.
High Court had reserved its order after hearing detailed arguments from all sides. Moitra has assailed the Lokpal's November 12 order, which granted sanction to the CBI to proceed against her.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday said it required time to examine the Lokpal's order granting sanction to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a chargesheet against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra in the alleged cash-for-query case.
Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra on Monday approached the Delhi High Court, expressing concern over alleged media reports about the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitting its findings to the Lokpal of India in the ongoing cash-for-query case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a money laundering case against Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra in cash-for-query row case, sources said.
Moitra, who is fighting the Lok Sabha election from Krishnanagar, has communicated her decision to the central probe agency, saying that she would not be able to present before the federal agency due to her presence in her constituency for her ongoing election campaign.
"The ethics committee has already suggested a CBI raid, and that is why it is happening, it is their duty. Whatever they are doing is perfect," Majumdar said, speaking to ANI on Saturday.
This comes after Lokpal on Tuesday ordered the CBI to investigate all aspects of the allegations made against Trinamool Congress leader and former MP Mahua Moitra in the 'cash for query' case.
