Telangana CM approves hike in diet, cosmetic allowances for welfare hostel students as Diwali gift

The increased diet and cosmetic charges will benefit as many as 7,65,705 students in the state, the release claimed

Telangana (Hyderabad) [India], November 1 (ANI): Following the increase in diet and cosmetic allowances for students in all social welfare hostels, State Principal Secretary for Education B Venkatesham, along with Secretaries from other welfare departments, met Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to express gratitude for this significant decision, according to a release from the CM's office on Friday.
The Government announced a "Diwali Gift" for students in all government hostels, including those under SC, ST, BC, Minority institutions, and Telangana Residential Educational Institution Society (TREIS) hostels, by enhancing the cosmetic and diet charges, the release stated.
The Secretaries expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the Official Committee's recommendations regarding the increase in diet charges, it added.
The Chief Minister advised the authorities to make necessary adjustments to the diet to ensure students receive nutritious meals daily in the hostels. He directed officials to introduce the revised diet within 10 days, according to the CM's office.
The enhanced diet and cosmetic allowances will benefit approximately 7,65,705 students across the state, the release claimed. (ANI)
