RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, MP Misa Bharti visit Ular Sun Temple on Chhath

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his daughter and RJD MP Misa Bharti on Tuesday visited the Ular Sun Temple in Paliganj on the occasion of the Chhath Puja festival.

Patna (Bihar) [India], November 5 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his daughter and RJD MP Misa Bharti on Tuesday visited the Ular Sun Temple in Paliganj on the occasion of the Chhath Puja festival.
Speaking to ANI, RJD MP Misa Bharti said that we have to come to inspect the arrangements made and we also inspected the Chhath ghats.
"We had come to inspect the Chhath Ghat. The arrangements are good. We have also offered prayers in the temple. We have prayed to God that all the people of Bihar celebrate Chhath in a good way and that everyone should return to their homes after celebrating Chhath with their families. RJD chief Lalu Yadav has also inspected the Ghat here," she said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appealed to the people of the state to celebrate the festival with mutual love, harmony and peace.
"Congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state and the country on the occasion of the four-day grand festival of folk faith, Chhath. This great festival of public faith is a festival of self-discipline, in which people offer prayers to the setting and rising Sun God with pure conscience and a clean mind. On the occasion of Chhath, the great festival of public faith, prayers are offered to Lord Bhaskar for the progress, happiness, peace and prosperity of the state and an appeal is made to the people of the state to celebrate this great festival together with mutual love, mutual harmony and peace," he said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings to people on Nahay-Khay in Chhath festival.
"My best wishes to all the countrymen on the holy occasion of Nahay-Khay today in the festival of Chhath. My special greetings to all the fasting people. I wish that with the blessings of Chhathi Maiya, your rituals are completed successfully," PM Modi said in a post on X.
The four-day Chhath puja began on Tuesday with Nahay-Khay.
Chhath Puja is celebrated in different parts of the country and is a major festival in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
Devotees in these states and the national capital performed puja rituals on Tuesday morning at Yamuna and Ganga ghats.
Nahay-Khay, which falls on the Chaturthi Tithi of Kartik Shukla Paksha, is about cleansing, and prepping for the festival. It is followed by Kharna on Panchami Tithi on day 2, Chhath Puja on Sashti, and the festival concludes with Usha Arghya on Saptami Tithi.
The festivities will conclude on November 8. (ANI)
