New Delhi [India], July 5 (ANI): Refuting the claims of Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, JD(U) leader KC Tyagi on Friday said that the NDA government, supported by strong pillars like JD(U) and TDP, will endure beyond 2029.
Lalu Yadav claimed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, which came to power last month, could fall by August and elections could happen anytime.
"Lalu Yadav is disappointed. JDU and TDP are two strong pillars of this (NDA) government, and this government will continue even after 2029," Tyagi said.
Regarding Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's remarks, KC Tyagi highlighted the Bihar government's uncompromising stance on corruption, as evidenced by actions taken against engineers following multiple bridge collapses.
"The action taken against the engineers proves that Nitish's government in Bihar will not compromise on corruption," Tyagi said.
Tejashwi Yadav today slammed the Nitish Kumar-led government and said that the double engine of the Bihar government is engaged in "corruption and crime".
Over the past 15 days, the state has seen the collapse of 10 bridges, raising concerns about infrastructure safety and maintenance. A bridge collapsed in Bihar's Saran district on Thursday, marking the 10th such incident in the state in just over a fortnight.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi defended Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attributing the bridge collapses to unusually heavy monsoon rains affecting Bihar and other states. Manjhi emphasized that the Bihar CM had ordered actions against negligent officials.
Showing similar sentiments Tyagi said, "Due to excessive rain, such incidents are being witnessed and heard not only in Bihar but also in Assam, the North East, Himachal Pradesh, and many parts of Uttar Pradesh."
Meanwhile, in Hathras, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited the families affected by a recent stampede and urged Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to provide fair compensation to the victims. KC Tyagi supported Gandhi's call for increased financial assistance to the affected families, stressing the need for attention to their plight.
"I agree with Rahul Gandhi's demand that the victims should receive maximum financial assistance because they belong to a very weak section of society," Tyagi said.
Earlier in the day Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Hathras early in the morning, met with the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in the July 2 tragedy at a religious 'Satsang' event of self-styled godman Suraj Pal alias 'Bhole Baba' in Fulari village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, which claimed 121 lives.
"There is no need to politicize this issue, but many families have also requested an increase in compensation, and the UP government should pay attention to this," Tyagi added.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren for replacing tribal leader Champai Soren with himself, accusing him of 'Parivarvad'.
Tyagi replied stating, "Although this is an internal matter of the JMM, it also reeks of 'Parivarvad', there is no doubt."
Speaking in Ramgarh, Chouhan accused Soren of prioritising the interests of a single family.
"What was the fault of Champai Soren? You made him the CM, you could have let him continue, but you removed a tribal CM. Just because you want to have the hold of just one family...," Chouhan said. (ANI)
