Encouraging Vedic studies in India

New Delhi [India], Sep 30 (ANI): To encourage and promote Vedic studies in India, Singhal Foundation, Udaipur will felicitate the best student, teacher and school with 'Bharatama Ashokji Singhal Vedic Education' awards.

The best Vedic student will get a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and certificate. Similarly, the best teacher and the school will be given Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh respectively. Certificate and trophy will also be given to the winners.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat will be the chief guest at the event, which will take place here on 5 October, 2017 at SPM Civic Centre.

Organiser of the event, Salil Singhal, said, "While there are a number of charities supporting Vedic education at regional or local levels, there is no award at the national level. We decided to institute the annual award to encourage more and more schools, teachers and students to take up the study of the Vedas and propagate them for the good of society. An impartial and rigorous method was adopted to select one best student, teacher and school respectively." (ANI)
