EU foreign ministers designated Iran's IRGC as a terrorist organisation, citing violent crackdowns and security concerns. Israel welcomed the move, while Iran called it a strategic mistake. The decision eases legal action against IRGC members and comes alongside new EU sanctions over human rights abuses and Iran's missile and drone programmes.

The Embassy of India in Paris organised a reception on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. The celebration brought together high-ranking French officials, ambassadors, members of the Indian community, and numerous friends of India. Minister Anne Le Henanff was the guest of honour for the event.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that France would join its European partners in backing the IRGC's inclusion on the EU's list of terrorist entities. "France will support the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the European list of terrorist organizations," he wrote, adding that the regime must "immediately release prisoners, put an end to executions, lift the digital blockade, and allow the United Nations Human Rights Council's fact-finding mission to investigate the crimes committed in Iran."

International experts at the Raisina Dialogue 2026 underscored India's strategic autonomy and evolving global role. Amidst a 30-day US waiver for Russian oil, diplomats from Poland, the OECD, and Austria emphasised that while diversification is key, India remains a trusted, essential partner in navigating complex global energy and security challenges.

Two bodies were found in Panjgur, Balochistan, raising concerns over enforced disappearances. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee alleged both victims were previously taken by armed men linked to security forces. Rights groups highlighted a continuing pattern of disappearances and killings in the region, while Pakistani authorities have not issued an official response.
