In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, "The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"

Kirk, the head of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck on Wednesday while speaking at the university. Videos from the scene showed chaos as attendees fled after the gunfire. Officials confirmed that Kirk was the only person injured in the incident.

According to a Washington Post report, the call was described as tense by a senior Israeli official. Herzog conveyed the profound shock in Israel after the October 7 Hamas attack, to which the Pope responded, stating unequivocally that it is "forbidden to respond to terror with terror," according to the Israeli official.

The woman, in her 20s and in an advanced state of pregnancy, was taken to the Assaf HaRofeh Hospital in Be'er Yaakov with stab wounds. Doctors performed an emergency C-section but were unable to save the mother or the fetus.
