External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Kuala Lumpur, where the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations, regional developments, and global challenges.

Haiti, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and the Bahamas were opening shelters and making other emergency preparations as experts warned that Hurricane Melissa could become the strongest storm to make landfall in Jamaica's recorded history, according to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.

"We are implementing the withdrawal of all our forces within Turkiye," the Kurdish PKK said in a statement read out on Sunday in the Qandil area of northern Iraq, according to an AFP journalist present there.

"The extended ceasefire agreement between Thailand & Cambodia at the #ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur is an important step towards peace & stability in the region. We encourage both sides to continue dialogue & cooperation as well as reopen borders & resume trade relations," the German Foreign Office posted on X.

The Vietnamese PM stressed the need to strengthen economic connectivity and make the most of comparative advantages for sustainable and inclusive development. Second, he proposed expanding people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in education, healthcare, culture, and tourism; and third, he highlighted the importance of promoting maritime cooperation and developing a sustainable blue economy.
