Venkatesh hails return of RCB's home matches to Chinnaswamy

RCB are all set to return to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with five of their home games confirmed to take place in Bengaluru this 2026 IPL season. Their games at home were under a cloud of uncertainty due to a stampede that took place after the team's maiden IPL win last year during the victory celebrations, and the venue missed out on hosting matches of the state's T20 competition, the Maharaja Trophy and the ICC Women's World Cup fixtures as well. Bengaluru also did not get any fixtures for the ongoing T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Economical with ball, sharp fielding: Dilip's advice to India

It will be the third time in a row when India and England will be locking horns with each other in a T20 World Cup semifinal after the 2022 and 2024 editions, with the loss at Adelaide by 10 wickets paving the way for a change in Team India's mindset with regards to white-ball cricket, the 2024 win being a revenge for Men in Blue in their historic unbeaten campaign. Now in 2026, both teams will be fighting for a spot in the final to secure their record-breaking third title and become the most decorated side in the tournament's history.

At the iconic Eden Gardens, it will be a mouth-watering battle between South Africa and New Zealand, two sides without a World Cup title to their name in the 20-over or 50-over format, for a spot in the title clash against India or England. The presence of Henry, who has done well with the new ball, is extremely crucial to determining the outcome of the match. The pacer had left the squad after their final Super Eight game against England on February 27 for the birth of his child.

McGrath slams selectors' T20WC errors following group stage exit

Australia, struggling with injuries leading upto the tournament, with pacers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood missing out due to injuries, and Tim David and Glenn Maxwell having injury scares leading upto the tournament, crashed out in the first round of the competition following humiliating losses to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. While they defeated Ireland in their campaign opener and absolutely dismantled Oman in their final group stage match, the Aussies were far from their dominant selves. Once again questioned were raised over the team's T20I future and if they took the format seriously at all, having won only one T20WC back in 2021.

Shastri speaks on Abhishek's spot in IND-ENG T20 WC semifinal

Big tournaments are not always a bed of roses irrespective of runs, rankings and superstar status all the time, and Abhishek's run in this tournament has proven it. Starting the tournament with three successive ducks and sitting out against Namibia due to food poisoning, Abhishek's first runs came during the Super Eight clash against South Africa, a sluggish 12-ball 15. While a half-century against Zimbabwe in a must-win clash brought some cheers, Abhishek was once again down for a 11-ball 10 against West Indies during the virtual quarterfinal where a semifinal spot was at stake.

"Got something up his sleeve for semifinal": Ponting on Abhishek

As far as India's top order is concerned, this ongoing T20 World Cup has been an unexpected ride. The world number one in T20Is, Abhishek, started off the tournament with three ducks in a row, battling food poisoning that kept him out of the clash against Namibia in the group stage. His first runs came against South Africa in the Super Eight, but it was a sluggish 12-ball knock of 15 runs, where the batter swung out of desperation and hope. While a 30-ball 55 against Zimbabwe in a must-win clash restored some confidence, Abhishek's lean run continued as he could make just 10 against the West Indies. This in total makes for just 80 runs across six innings, including three ducks.
