Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, informed the Lok Sabha on Thursday that the country is successfully navigating the major disruption in global energy supplies following the West Asia conflict.

Earlier on Wednesday, the alert troops of White Knight Corps of the Indian army conducted a joint search Operation Sherikalan in Gen Area Poonch, and recovered approx 4 kg of explosives. They have been destroyed in situ.

It is the first week of Ramzan; the otherwise bustling lanes of Nizamuddin Basti are rather quiet for a spring afternoon. Once primarily a slum cluster in the heart of the national capital, the Basti now accommodates buildings that appear taller than some monuments here. Beyond its dusty paths and dingy lanes, the Nizamuddin skyline has domes of monuments decked with fairy lights for the holy month, lush green trees in the backdrop.

"Our family has been involved in traditional farming. Some time ago, I travelled to Kashmir with my family. On our way from Srinagar to Pampore, we had an opportunity to see saffron cultivation. It is the world's most expensive spice, following which we thought about its cultivation by creating an ideal temperature and climatic conditions here in Indore," Jaiswal said.
