New Delhi, Jun 25 (ANI): FIFA world 8 rank holders Poland were shown the door out from this year’s World Cup after losing to world 16 ranking Colombia in a bitter 0-3 defeat. The match held on Sunday at the Kazan Arena, Russia led to Poland dropping to number 4 position on the Group H point table and brought Colombia to the 3rd position. The opening goal (40’) by Colombian defender Yerry Mina gave the team a good head start against its seasoned opponents. After one goal in the first half of the match, the second half led a gripping yet slow pace. The dullness was broken by another goal by Colombia in the 70th minute by striker Radamel Falcao. Colombia’s win was set in stone by the midfielder Juan Cuadrado’s third and final goal of the match (75’). Poland couldn’t recover from the 3-nil score. Poland will play against Japan in Group H fixture on June 28. Colombia will face Senegal on the same day.
