The streets of Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram were bursting with the cutouts of iconic football players such as Leonel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. For Kerala, football has always been a source of solace. It's clear from the flags and images of favourite football players that have been daubed all over the city, transforming it into a microcosm of Qatar.
