CWG 2018: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat bags second consecutive Games Gold

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Wrestler Vinesh Phogat won gold in women’s freestyle 50 kg by beating Canada’s Jessica Macdonald 13-3 in her last bout. She ended at the top of the standings at the end of the Nordic (round robin) format. With this win, Vinesh became the first Indian woman to win two wrestling gold medals at the Games She had also won gold in the 48 kg category in Glasgow four years ago. Phogat and Sumit Malik won gold in women’s freestyle 50 kg and men’s freestyle 125 kg wrestling events respectively at CWG 2018, while Sakshi Malik and Somveer won bronze.
