‘Veere Di Wedding’ smashes Bollywood's glass ceiling

New Delhi, Jun 04 (ANI): The female-led ‘Veere Di Wedding’ has the year's third biggest opening. It is proving that movies focusing on women characters can do well at the box office. Ekta Kapoor’s highly-anticipated film, ‘Veere di Wedding’ recorded an incredible first-weekend collection of Rs. 36.52 cr. The film, based on the lives of four friends stars, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. The film pulled enormous earnings in its opening weekend and grabbed one of the top 5 positions in the biggest openings of the year. It collected Rs. 10.70 crore on Friday, Rs. 12.25 crore on Saturday, Rs. 13.57 crore Sunday. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film released on June 1.
