Pune (Maharashtra), Jan 15 (ANI): The ‘Khiladi of Bollywood’ Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of his next film 'Padman', recently stated that sanitary pads should not be “tax free, rather completely free” for women. Addressing the media while promoting his movie in Pune, the 50-year-old-actor said, “Women are demanding tax-free sanitary napkins, but I feel it should be completely free., especially in the rural areas.” Helmed by R. Balki, 'Padman' is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who makes cheap and affordable sanitary pads for the women of his village and fights for menstrual hygiene. The movie, which stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles, will hit theatres on January 25.
