Mumbai, Aug 28 (ANI): The famous RK Studio, established by veteran actor Raj Kapoor 70 years ago in Mumbai’s Chembur area, is now up for sale. The Kapoor family’s decision comes after much deliberation to sell the iconic studio which was becoming too expensive to maintain. The studio was gutted in a fire that broke out last year on September 16 during the shooting of a reality dance show. Exclusive costumes worn by actors like Nargis and Vyjanthimala; props and publicity material, amongst other memorabilia were lost in this fire. The family had taken a decision to rebuild the studio, but some members believed that this would not be ‘economically viable’ and would not yield profits. The studio has seen the filming of many films and shoots of famous songs and scenes. The industry is saddened by this news and reactions have been flowing in from all corners regarding the selling of the iconic studio.
