New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): Ranveer Singh, who plays Alauddin Khilji in one of the most anticipated film of the year, 'Padmavati,' bids farewell to his character by wrapping up his portion for the saga. The 32-year-old actor, who plays the character of the most powerful ruler of the Khilji dynasty, took to his twitter handle and posted his portrait as the Khilji with blood stains on it. The picture was captioned, "And it's a wrap! Goodbye Alauddin. 1 year and a few weeks later, I bid thee farewell. May your restless soul find its peace... #Khilji" The movie is based on the legend of Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat, an Avadhi language epic poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, is slated to release on December 1.
