Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar), May 27 (ANI): Ahead of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s 141st birth anniversary, actor Randeep Hooda visited the Cellular Jail in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Randeep Hooda who played the character of Savarkar in his biopic 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' shared his deep connection with the role. The movie starred Hooda in his directorial debut. Ankita Lokhande played Yamuna Bai, wife of Savarkar, in the film On his visit Randeep Hooda said, “While studying Veer Savarkar's story and portraying it on screen, my involvement in it has increased a lot. When I get appreciation from those who understand the essence of Veer Savarkar ji that I have portrayed the story in a very good and powerful way, it feels very good...Today we have come here to the Cellular Jail where Vinayak ji was sentenced to 50 years of life imprisonment...All the strong revolutionary people were kept in isolation by the British away from the country and this is the place...”
