Nicole Kidman's upcoming movie based on conversion therapy

New Delhi, Oct 22 (ANI): Actor Nicole Kidman has revealed that her upcoming film 'Boy Erased' is based on a young character, who happens to undergo a conversion therapy. Conversion therapy is a practice where an individual's sexual orientation is changed from homosexual or bisexual to heterosexual, by bringing in psychological or spiritual interventions. She spoke about her new film at a luncheon in New York restaurant on Friday. The movie is based on a 2016 memoir, authored by Garrard Conley, where a son of a Baptist pastor, who happens to have a homosexual orientation undergoes the aforementioned therapy. Speaking of the characters, 'Moulin Rouge' star Kidman said that the characters are set in a small town in America where things start to fall apart a period of calm ends. The movie also stars Lucas Hedges and Russell Crowe of 'The Gladiator' fame. 'Boy Erased' will hit theatres in November this year. Kidman, who will be next seen 'Destroyer', is well known for starring alongside Hugh Jackman in 2008 movie 'Australia'. The talented actor has multiple awards in her repertoire. It includes an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, the Silver Bear for Best Actress, and a Cannes Film Festival special award.
