Mel Gibson and Jim Caviezel in talk for ‘The Passion of the Christ’ sequel

New Delhi, Jan 31,(ANI): Jim Caviezel is in talks with Hollywood director Mel Gibson to reprise his role as Jesus Christ in the sequel of ‘The Passion of the Christ’, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Mel Gibson has reportedly taken charge of production and direction. Randall Wallace will be the scriptwriter of the film which is being called, ‘The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection’. It is expected to release in 2019 or 2020. The film had been one of the most controversial releases back in 2004. The Jewish community had said that the film was stirring a global resurgence of anti-Semitism.
