Martin Scorsese receives honorary award in Cannes

Cannes (France), May 10, (ANI): Martin Scorsese received the honorary Carrosse d'Or (Golden Coach) award amidst an ecstatic reception at a ceremony in Cannes. The trophy was given out at the beginning of the festival's Directors' Fortnight, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Scorsese won the festival's top prize the Palme d'Or for "Taxi Driver" in 1976. Previous winners of the Carrosse d'Or, which recognizes visionary filmmakers, include Jane Campion, Clint Eastwood and Agnes Varda
