Kader Khan among film fraternity to receive Padma Shri

New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): Union Ministry of Home Affairs announced the name of 112 recipients of the Padma Award, one of the highest civilian awards of the country on the eve of Republic Day. Among them are various artists from the film fraternity. Veteran actor Kader Khan will receive the award posthumously. was both an actor and dialogue writer who featured in over 300 films and wrote dialogues for over 200 films. Actor Manoj Bajpayee will also be honoured with the award. Southern actor Mohanlal who is also in the list has a career spanning four decades during which he worked in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films. Singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan who has proficiency in classical and mainstream Hindi film music has also been chosen for the award. One of the country’s popular choreographer, Prabhudheva will also be honoured with the award. He has worked in both Hindi and South films while also taking the director’s seat with few.
