Mumbai, Aug 29 (ANI): The lead cast of upcoming flick ‘Laila Majnu’ promoted the film in Mumbai. Lead actors Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri danced with the audiences and clicked pictures with them. Imtiaz Ali joined the team of his forthcoming production for the promotional event. The film is helmed by Imtiaz’s brother Sajid Ali who has taken a modern take on the legendary love story. The film is set to hit the big screen on September 7. Imtiaz Ali talking about his project, a collaboration with Ekta Kapoor, said, “I am very happy that Laila Majnu’s story is coming to big screen. A story that people have heard of, they will get to see it on the big screen. It is my request to filmgoers to urge people to go watch movies in cinema halls. Not enough to just talk about it.” Further talking about the lead pair, Imtiaz said, “Both of them have gone to the depths of their acting and not done a superficial job. The way Sajid has directed them is the best part of the film. I feel actors should not be stupid, as in they should be deep. The kind of lightness they maintained with that depth it is credible.” A classic folklore, the story is based on two lovers facing the challenges of the society of their times.
