New Delhi, Jun 27 (ANI): RD Burman, fondly known as ‘Pancham Da’ among fans, does not need any introduction. His path-breaking music compositions speak for him. June 27 marks the 80th birth anniversary of RD Burman. Born to Music Director Sachin Dev Burman, RD Burman set his own blaze and composed the music for a long string of classic films. He entered into the Bollywood industry in 1950s and since then he never looked back. He composed his first song when he was merely 9-year-old, ‘Aye Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa’, which his father used in the film ‘Funtoosh’ in 1956. From the 1960s to the 1990s, he composed musical scores for almost 331 films. Burman's first hit film as a film music director was 1966’s ‘Teesri Manzil’. Burman majorly worked with his wife Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. He composed music for Rajesh Khanna starrer ‘Kati Patang’, Dev Anand starrer ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’ among others.Undoubtedly, the credit for revolutionising Bollywood music goes to RD Burman. He influenced several generations with his music scores and till today his work is influencing everyone. He was an experimental music director who always played around with different kinds of music.
