‘Gully Boy’ trailer: Ranveer Singh steps into shoes of rapper

New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): After teasing fans with a trailer announcement video last week, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt today released the trailer for ‘Gully Boy’, one of the most awaited films of 2019. Based on the life of rapper and musician Divine, the musical drama directed by Zoya Akhtar will release on Valentine’s Day. The trailer starts with a rather underconfident Ranveer who believes the aspiring rappers are not going the right way, and most of them rap about “girls” and “cars”. As the trailer progresses, we get to see the struggles Ranveer’s character faces both at home and workplace. Alia, who is the female lead, plays the character of a confident woman despite being in an orthodox setup. Supporting characters include Vijay Raaz and Kalki Koechlin. Raaz plays Ranveer’s father who hates Ranveer’s passion for rapping, while Kalki seems to be playing a rebellious, who doesn’t like to go by the rules. ‘Gully Boy’ will hit theatres on February 14, 2019.
