‘Green Book’ wins best picture at 91st Academy Awards

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Biographical comedy-drama ‘Green Book’ took home the best picture honour at the 91st Academy Awards. Directed by Peter Farrelly, ‘Green Book’ is inspired by the true story of a tour of the Deep South by African-American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley and his Italian-American bouncer Tony Vallelonga, played by Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortenson respectively. Taking the stage, producer Jim Burke said, “We made this film with love, tenderness and respect, adding, “And it was all done under the direction of Peter Farrelly,” reported Variety. Ali also won Oscar for best supporting actor for ‘Green Book’. The movie also won in the best original screenplay category.
