Grammy Award-winning pop singer Keely Smith passes away

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Grammy award-winning singer Keely Smith breathed her last on Saturday due to ‘apparent’ heart failure in Palm Springs, California at the age of 89. According to her publicist Bob Merlis, Smith was under a ‘physician's care when she died’, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The singer is known for her solo recordings of jazz standards as well as her partnership with her first husband, Louis Prima. Smith and Prima won a Grammy at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards in 1959 for best performance by a vocal group for “That Old Black Magic,” which stayed on the charts for 18 weeks. The late jazz and pop singer established a notable solo career with her milestone recording, “I Wish You Love” in 1957, produced by Nelson Riddle. Her hits included, ‘Bei Mir Bist Du Schön’, ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ and ‘That Old Black Magic’.
