New Delhi, Aug28 (ANI): Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ finally enters the 100cr club on its 13th day of release and to become the actor’s 9th film to enter the coveted club. The film which hit the theatres on Independence Day, has earned 100.45 crore. Film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to make the announcement which read as, “#Gold crosses 100 cr mark on day 13 …[week2] Fri 1.85 cr, Sat 3.10 cr, Sun 4.75 cr, Mon 1.45 cr. Total: Rs. 100.45 cr . India Biz.. Akshay Kumar’s ninth film in Rs. 100 cr club.” The ‘Padman’ star plays the role of Tapan Das, a character which is based on a man who led India to win gold in 1948 London Olympics. ‘Gold’ is the debut film of the TV sensation Mouni Roy. The Sports drama also consists of some of the prominent stars like Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal among others.
