New Delhi, Jul 21 (ANI): Kangana Ranaut’s much awaited film ‘Manikarnika’ has finally announced its release date. The movie will hit the silver screen on 25 January 2019.The film which is an epic biographical film, is based on the life of Rani Jhansi or Lakshmibai who was a leading figure of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 during colonial India. Reportedly, Kangana learnt sword fighting for the film for her character as Rani Lakshmibai and refused to use a body double. She even got injured following a practice for a shot. As per the Box Office possibilities, Kangana’s film might clash with Hrithik’s ‘Super 30’, throwing major war after the past feud between the two. ’Manikarnika’ is based on true incidents of Indian history and an iconic freedom fighter Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.
