Disney mulling sixth instalment of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Disney studios, who met up with a team of writers from the ‘Deadpool’ franchise, are looking at options to produce a sixth installment of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise. However, Disney is yet to announce any concrete plans on the same. According to Variety, there is a possibility of Disney taking a decision in the affirmative because of the worldwide revenue earned by other the five films stands at USD 3.07 billion. The franchise earned in billion as the second movie ‘Dead Man’s Chest’ and the fourth movie ‘On Stranger Tides’ earned more than a billion dollars worldwide. The fifth movie of the franchise ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ was about Johnny Depp’s character Jack Sparrow battling ghost sailors. Javier Bardem’s character Captain Salazar was Sparrow’s comrade. In the movie, Orlando Bloom returned as Will Turner and Geoffrey Rush essayed the role of Captain Hector Barbossa. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are currently discussing the possibility of a sixth movie along with Disney, have also written scripts for ‘Life’, sci-fi movie ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ and the ‘Zombieland’ series.
