Deepika Padukone to play acid attack survivor for Meghna Gulzar’s next

New Delhi, Oct 05 (ANI): Deepika Padukone will play an acid attack survivor in Meghna Gulzar’s next and the actress has also turned producer for the film. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh made it official on Twitter handle. The story is based on the real life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Agarwal was attacked at the age of 15 in 2005. She has since then become a campaigner and speaks for the rights of acid attack survivors. After portraying the role of Rani Padmini, this is the first such big role that Padukone will take up. Her last movie ‘Padmaavat’ received huge appreciation. Gulzar’s last ‘Raazi’ was also critically acclaimed.
