New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Recently, there were reports that Akshay Kumar-starrer R. Balki’s ‘Padman’ will clash with Rajinikanth’s mega budget sci-fi ‘2.0’, also starring Akshay in the role of an antagonist. The news was not only confusing but shocking as both the films had Akshay Kumar in a pivotal role. But, now Akshay himself spoke about the topic to clear for one and all that there will be no clash at the box office. In an interview to a leading daily, Akshay asked, “Why would I clash with my own film? It will be either Padman or 2.0.” So basically, he is putting the anxieties of his fans to rest. But which film would shift its date? “While Padman is a film that I have produced, ‘2.0’ belongs to Shankar, Rajinikanth and Lyca Productions. They will decide whether they want to release the film on Republic Day. If they do, I will postpone ‘Padman’ and if they don’t, I will go ahead,” the actor said. It’s been speculated that Shankar’s mega budget sci-fi drama wouldn’t be able to meet its promise of January 25 release as the team is still to get over the VFX and other post production work of the film. Although no official confirmation has been made yet.
