Tamil Nadu's Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) have arrested five people, including two women, in connection with the attack on YouTuber Savukku Shankar's residence in Chennai, an official said.
YouTuber Savukku Shankar claims his house was ransacked after he exposed a scam involving vehicle distribution for Dalit entrepreneurs. He accuses TNCC President K. Selvaperunthagai of organizing the attack in retaliation for his exposure of the scheme.
The Chennai Police has registered two more cases against YouTuber 'Savukku' Shankar who has been sent to judicial custody till May 17, following his arrest allegedly for making defamatory remarks against women police officials, police said on Saturday.
In its November 11 order, the Supreme Court had suspended the sentence of six-month imprisonment imposed by the Madras High Court for contempt of court on Savukku Shankar.
